Business Process Management (BPM) is
a management philosophy for doing business
differently in pursuit of extraordinary
results.
It embeds process thinking in an
organization such that they can continually
change, adapt and improve to suit market and
economic conditions.
Business Process Architecture
(BPA) - A subset of the Business
Architecture, the BPA contains the type of
processes an enterprise (or some portion
thereof) contains and the relationships
among them:
1.
Value Chain or the group of processes
that execute the production of the goods and
services which define the purpose of a
business; it covers all activities from
client requests to satisfactory delivery.
2.
Group of processes that a business
performs to develop new capabilities that
are required to enhance its competitiveness,
such as new products, new infrastructure and
new processes.
3.
Business Planning or the group of
processes that define the future of a
business in the form of strategies, plans
and programs.
4.
Group of processes that manage the
resources needed by other functions:
financial, human, infrastructure, IT, and
others.
